1. Has anyone spotted themselves on the new street views on google maps?

I've seen my mom's car parked in front of the house but that's as far as it got.

Google Earth is the best there is. But unlike in the US, where you can zoom in on my house and see that my lawn is browner than Mr. Mattsen's lawn next door and that my old Chevy Corsica is parked on the wrong side of the driveway, satellite resolution on Ukraine as a whole is not so high. Much of the U.S. satellite coverage for Eastern Europe is still classified and other satellite operators haven't gone to the expense yet of providing satellite coverage for parts of the world that don't offer so much financial reward as coverage of Western Europe and the U.S.

3. How were maps drawn before aerial views could be made?

TRIANGULATION. Setting aside the maps that were purely guess work Hills were used as markers. One person on hill A sited on a fire on hill B and then sited on hill C. If the compass bearings of each are known and the distance between two of the points is known simple maths will give you the answer. Take a look at the map of Northern Kenya in the Turkana region. The border is a straight line. This border was set up this way.

google earth and msn live will take you street side if you know the address, but mns live is better, takes you closer and you can move 360

sattelites are up in the sky..they are in a steady motion as the world moves, every few secs they take a pic..so it just depends..if it doesn't say then you prob wont know.. since there is so many satellites in outerspace..its really hard to tell what satellite took the picture and when..the could be takking pictures of that spot and every spot every day..

Satellite view Shows only the satellite image. Hybrid View Shows the satellite image with streets outlined. This is the same on the iPhone as well as a regular computer.

Start with the county website, see if they have a public access GIS system. Most don't, so that means you need to call the county clerk's office and ask if they sell county plat books. If that's a no, then you have to head down there in person and pay to make copies from their books.

Street Views are created by third party companies who actually drive down the street with special cameras that are always taking pictures. Thats why if you notice a lot of streets do not have street views yet.

You can still view it, but it goes slower, and it wont be able to pin-point your location.

I have never seen that before. I believe there is nothing like that this moment but maybe in the future.

20. How does Google Maps ( Street View ) What is the technology that makes it see the way it does?

They take a little volkwagen bug that has 8 cameras on top of the car. And the cameras take X number of pictures every minute. So they just drive around the city while the cameras on top take pictures. So they get a full 360 degree round view. Because the Cameras make a circle getting every view possible. Then they use a image editing software and stitch the photos together (i.e. photoshop, panorama maker) then they save the images and upload them to google streets.
